General Membership Meeting Meeting Monday March 10, 2008 Middlesex Public Library
Meeting was called to order @ 7:15pm All board members were present All teams were represented except for All Stars and Crossfire 24 total present
Presidents ReportMayors Meeting Rachel is waiting to here back from Mayor DeAngelo to set up meeting with him. This meeting will be to discuss field and other issues with him. If any former board member would like to attend this meeting please let Rachel know.
Fundraising Rachel presented a fundraising company called Genevieves. This is a fundraiser possibly for the fall. It was suggested to have a representative from the company come to the next meeting. Other fundraising ideas were suggested such as working a concession stand at Patriot Stadium, lottery calanders and getting corporate sponsers. There was also talk of putting together a fundraising committee for the future. Advertising Looking to put flyers in store windows at the places where the teams will be canning for can day. Flyers are to advertise try outs for the fall which will be May 17th . Fields Erne Korom spoke to Jerry at DPW and the permits for the fields will be released this week. Sunday March 16th will start the soccer season and home games will be played. Ed Bagonyi is in charge of assigning the fields to be lined. The league will do the initial lining and the township will then paint the lines weekly. Coaches please speak to Ed to find out what field your team is responsible for painting. Liam has asked to be at the field for the initial lining so please contact him before you line your field. Rachel thanked all the coaches for dedicating their time and asked if anyone had any other suggestions to help the league. If so please e-mail the board.
Vice Presidents ReportProfessional training schedule is done for the teams and will start outside March 17th. All coaches were e-mailed the training schedule. Sharon has put together a weekly analysis forthe coaches about your teams training. If you have any other questions about the training with Box2Box please contact John. The web page is up and running so if you would like to up date your teams info please e-mail John.
Treasurers ReportWe have 178 kids registered for 12 teams for the spring season. Ref. fees are estimated to be the same as last season. An estimated $400.00 will be given to teams for ref. fees. A $100.00 will be allotted for each team for equipment. Doug Warner is in charge of equipment. Lastly, Sharon has announced this is her last season we are hoping she will change her mind.
League ContactWent to Mid N.J. meeting last Thursday. There are 877 teams formed and over 4,000 games will be played this season. All teams will have a minimum of four home games played or a maximum of five home games played. Sage meeting for older teams is March 18th at the Middlesex High School from 7:30pm till 9:00pm. Sage reps. and Coaches for older teams need to attend meeting. Player cards and stickers for home games are done. Home game schedule for all teams is done and finalized. Flight winners for U11 teams and up will have play-off games. The professional training for the teams looks like it may be at the pool field. Referees are needed. Asked John to post on web site.
Secretarys ReportCan day will be April 12th for U12 teams and up and May 10th for U9, U10 & U11 teams. The places that were booked so far are Quick Checks in Middlesex, Dunellen and Bound Brook. Talked about getting Quick Check in Manville for Crossfire to can at. Still need to book other places. Box 2 BoxLiam introduced Chris Calveley to everyone. Chris will be training the Rockets and the Roadrunners. He will also be observing the games and doing game analysis. Game analysis will be done by the Wednesday after the game. There will be 2 game analysis for each team done this season. Offering free coaches clinic would like to see everyone there. Soccer camp for spring break April 21st thru 25th information is coming soon. Liam has asked that all kids come to practice with shin guards, cleats, ball, and water. He also that a parent be present at all practices including goalie practice. Goalie training will be an additional $45.00 and will be broken up into four groups. All professional training will start March 17th. If training every needs to be cancelled Liam askes that a coach or board member call him at least 30mins. before. UniformsKris Gary mentioned that Addias uniforms will be in on Wednesday and XARA uniform pieces are in and she will get them out this week. EquipmentDoug said every coach should have a set of corner flags. If not let him know. New BusinessIt was mentioned that some of the teams would like to be able to have extra training time. This extra time would be paid separately from each team by collecting money from parents. It was also mentioned if there could be a goalie training evaluation for this season.
