Presidents Report

              Mayors Meeting

Rachel has spoken with the Mayor as well as the recreation department regarding fields for MYSA to use.  At this time there are no fields that can be dedicated to us.  They are currently working on replacing the HS football field.  It is a possibility that this could be replaced with turf field if they can secure the grants.  If this is the case than there is a chance we may be able to utilize some other fields in town since the new field would be able to accommodate other sports in town.  This will not be known until next fall.

Flyers had been given out to Middlesex, Bound Brook and Dunellen schools for the Spring Tryouts as well as a note in the local paper and the on the High School sign.

              Thank You

Rachel extended a thank you to all coaches for helping out this season along with Tina Chiera and Claudia Zeller for fundraising, Doug Warner for equipment, Ernie Korom for fields, Kris Gary for uniforms and Anna Mantell for recruitment.

Thank you notes were also sent to the DPW and Recreation department.

Vice Presidents Report

Dennis reviewed the B2B training; we had budgeted 216 total hours for the fall training season.  To date we used 216.5.  Thanks to Liam with extending training the 2 weeks to help utilize all hours budget for.

Goal keeping training was also extended for 2 weeks into November to make up for early season changes.  We did not lose any hours of goal training

Box 2 Box Items –

Paul is expected to return for the spring season

Liam is also returning and has really stepped up this season to maintain an easy transition when Paul left.

Chris has also helped out tremendously and we are hoping that he will be back in the spring as well.

Liam will have the game analysis with the team reports by Sunday November 25th.  (Please contact the board if you do not receive them by this date)

Liam will be returning home for the winter months and will be back in February.

There were half of the complaints this season as compared to last season with regards to all aspects of the club.

Dennis is looking for feed back on training and/or evaluations.  Please contact him with any questions or concerns so we can work to make the training the most efficient as possible.

Some items discussed with regards to spring training that will be looked into by the board are:

      • Additional training hours for the older players
      • Holding less coaches clinics in the spring and allotting those hours back into player training.
      • Modifying how goalie training will be held by breaking it into levels of ability rather than age croups and the possibility of having a dedicated goalie trainer.

Treasurers Report

Spring Tryouts – there were 84 players who tried out for the Spring Season with approximately 20 new players to the league.  As of the meeting date we have received 136 registrations.

If you have any players that will be returning for the spring and have not yet returned their registration forms please have them to Tony no later than team selection night so they can be added to the roster.

The budget for the fall season is very tight.  Tony is reviewing some invoices from suppliers with regard to some questions about billings.

It was discussed about how many players can be assigned to a team.  A U 17, 18 or 19 team can carry up to 22 players.

We need to notify the league by January with the number of teams we will have for the spring season which is why it is important to have all the registrations on place ASAP.

League Contact

There are 5 home games scheduled for our last weekend of the season 11-17 and 11-18.  If the weather holds out than we will have completed the season with very few make up games.

If there is no referee at your game, a valid person can be selected to referee as long as it is agreed upon by both coaches.  This person will than need to ref the entire game.

Sharon mentioned if there is anyone or if anyone knows of someone who would be interested in obtaining their referee certificate to contact her.  We are required by the league to supply at least 3 referees if we have 9 teams or less or 4 referees if we have more than 10 teams.

Sharon would like updated team rosters from the fall season.

Secretary Report

John will be updating the website this season.  Please forward any results, pictures and/or team news to John to be put on the site.  Schedules, Directions, League Information, B2B updates and fundraiser information will also be posted.

Box 2 Box

Liam stated that all training has been completed for the season and that there is 1 more game analysis to be completed the weekend of 11-17 and 11-18.

He will be completing the end of season reports and they will be sent out by 12-03-07.

All coaches’ clinics have also been completed.

Liam will be returning home Nov 20 and will be returning in February.  He can be reached via e-mail while he is away.

Fundraising

We discussed picking a date for can day (possibly the 1st or 2nd weekend in April) as soon as possible so we can secure the locations early on since there is a lot of other organizations who will be canning in the spring.  Can day is our most successful fundraiser with little expense to the club.

We discussed other possible fund raisers, Breakfast and/or umbrella sales.  These items will be looked into further.

New Business

It was discussed approximately how many hours in addition to training do he teams practice.  The consensus of the coaches present was that they practice 1 to 2 hours a week in addition to their training sessions.  Also discussed was the possibility of getting additional field time for practices outside of training.

Door Prize

Congratulations to Gary Walther, the winner of the evenings door prize of a gift certificate to Sports Authority and a water bottle.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 pm

Respectfully Submitted

John Nicholson

MYSA Secretary
